baking!

i seem 2 b doing A LOT of baking at the moment! i think it's just a tool 2 stay in the nice cosy warm kitchen eating my baked goodies... ;) yesterday i made DELICIOUS oat crunchies, the recipe 4 which i include below. I got the recipe from school and they taste like really good buttery hobnobs. The recipe should make around 24 depending on how u cut the dough.

OAT CRUNCHIES
100g butter
70g golden sugar
1 teaspoon golden syrup
3 teaspoons boiling water
100g self raising flour
50g rolled oats

Preheat the oven to 170C (fan oven)
  1. Cream butter and sugar.
  2. Add syrup and boiling water and beat well.
  3. Stir in oats and flour. Mix well.
  4. Roll into a sausage shape.
  5. Cut into 20-24 pieces.
  6. Roll each piece into a ball, place on a greased baking sheet and flatten with the back of a fork.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and cool on a wire rack.

I hope you enjoy making these! They are really quick, easy and tasty to make so enjoy! If this works I'll add more tasty ones because I have also recently made lots of other biscuits such as rose water ones- which were really delicate and tasty- and lemon and sasame seed biscuits which are waiting for me in the oven now!
